The Foxhound was developed as a pack animal bred to chase the fox followed by hunters on horses. They hunt in packs and prefer to live in packs. A solitary English Foxhound is probably not a happy Foxhound. The English Foxhound is stockier and slower than his cousin the American Foxhound.
